The Moscow Borough Police Department consists of twelve officers - three full-time and nine part-time officers. The department's current coverage is approximately 20 hours per day. When off-duty, the Pennsylvania State Police are on call. The Police Department has five vehicles, one of which is a four-wheel drive and another is a scooter. The department is dispatched for emergency calls by a 911 Communications Center. The Police Department is located in the Municipal Building at 123 VanBrunt Street.
The department is responsible for enforcement of Borough ordinances, traffic laws, parking regulations and state laws. The department is community oriented and participates in seat-belt safety programs, car seat checks, general safety, tours of the department and other programs in our schools. The department instituted a Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Self-Defense Course for Women in 1998 and a radKids program in 2001. The Police Department provides security checks while residents are out-of-town for any length of time.
